Sometimes, in life, you meet people so genuinely kind that it catches you off guard. Not because you’re surprised that such kindness exists; but because, in the moment, you think, If everyone was like them, what a more beautiful world it would be.

Rachel and I attended high school together! Our family & siblingds were all friends. Coming from a small town like Edgewood, IA, everyone knew everyone and if you were to get in trouble, everyone knew it(LOL). When Rachel reached out to me about photographing her wedding, I was SO EXCITED! Oh course, I couldn’t turn down a long time friend! When I am able to take a visit back home to Iowa it just brings me back to my crazy younger days. It’s been 8 years since I graduating high school and coming back to my old stomping grounds makes my day.

Derrick & Rachel met each other 3 years ago at Rachel’s hometown local saloon. They started dating shortly after and it’s been a beautiful relationship. You can tell by these images how in love these two are! These two love birds will be tying the knot August 2021 right in the town where it all started!
